Red Dead Redemption 2 Should Bring Back The Series Western Minigames

From Global Bio Index

Red Dead Redemption II is an incredibly long game. Spanning six chapters and two epilogues, Arthur Morgan’s journey will take players upwards to 60 hours to complete in full- and that’s if you rush by the end. While a fantastic narrative about the last days of the Wild West, it is not a story without fault. Underneath the game’s genuinely gripping story is a plot filled with holes that detract from its inherent quality. Character motivations often don’t make sense, events are sometimes poorly explained, and scenarios will occasionally even contradict the first game. red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay Dead Redemption II is a fantastic game, but it isn’t immune from having plot ho

No, sorry Sephiroth is not in the game, but perhaps he is the one that summoned this anomaly. If you go north of the V in Roanoke Valley, and slightly to the west, you'll see a small square. This is a cabin. Make a trip up there to find it has been pierced by a meteor, smoking everyone inside to, well, really gross looking corpses. Bad for them, but good for you as you can sell the leftover chunk for a good bit of c

Thankfully, we've seen some hints that Red Dead Redemption 2 will almost certainly bring back some of these minigames, as a recent screenshot highlighted the game's protagonist, Arthur Morgan, and the rest of the Van der Linde gang surrounding a poker table . I had no doubts that we'll see Poker and Blackjack return to a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 , but what I'm equally hoping we see are even more eclectic minigames that truly exemplify the game's Western setting, and that can add deeper dimensions to its world.

Narratively, there is simply no realistic way that Arthur would have had low honor at the end of the game. He is actively giving away money, atoning for his sins, and trying to help those around him find a better life. Those are not the actions of a man with no honor. If you play low honor, you’re sadly not getting the intended st

In Chapter 2, Arthur takes Jack on an impromptu fishing trip. As John hasn’t been the best father prior to the events of the prequel, it’s up to the other men of the camp to serve as a good role model for Jack. Only Arthur is able to fill that role, however, so Abigail requests he spend time with the

There's no denying that Red Dead Redemption 2 is without a doubt the game that I am most looking forward to this year (like many others). While I've been pondering its story and gazed at what we've seen from its breathtaking open-world, one of my secret wishes is that the game will nail the smaller details that I came to admire from Red Dead Redemption , and along with that I am hoping for the return of its signature Western minigames in the upcoming sequel.

Slightly south you will find a viking burial ground where you can obtain a helmet and hatchet. The helmet looks cool, but it doesn't have any special attributes and the hatchet is just a throwing axe that is slightly alte

Upon arriving on the island of Guarma , the gang once again finds themselves in the midst of a civil war. This time, the battle is between the island’s plantation owners and the slaves working in the fields. Taking arms up against the plantation owners, the gang helps progress the revolution for the slaves’ cause, before heading back to mainland Amer

Probably one of the biggest side missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 , Arcadia for Amateurs , follows a photographer named Albert Mason who (for some reason or another) always has bad luck. There are several parts to this side mission which you will encounter as you progr

It may seem counterintuitive, but player freedom is not always a good thing. It truly depends on the game. In a story based title like Red Dead Redemption II , it genuinely does no good to have an Arthur who can be bad while his arc is clearly pushing for him to be better. Not only does it create a dissonance between story and gameplay, it creates a plot h

At one point, Morgan is confronted by Agents Milton and Ross - two of the agents from the Pinkerton Detective Agency - who insist on any information regarding the Van Der Linde gang. Morgan denies any knowledge of the gang’s whereabouts, but the agents make it clear that they don’t believe him and indicate that they’ll be back in to

Given that it's been eight years since we last rode out West with the Red Dead series, I'm already enticed by what we've seen from Red Dead Redemption 2 and what its massive Western open world will have in store. Though we've only had a few trailers over the past year or so, there's already a tantalizing amount of variety that Rockstar has shown in its world that I can't wait to see more of in the final game, such as hunting, herding, and hopefully much more beyond that. And yet for all that I can expect Red Dead Redemption 2 will deliver a massive open world full of beauty, action, and spectacle, I can't help but hope that the minigames of Red Dead Redemption will not only make a return, but be expanded upon to really make its sequel's world that much richer and more detailed.
